Learn a method of layering paint that the Flemish and Renaissance masters used. During the first class, the "imprimatura" layer will be explained and demonstrated and you will complete a basic rendering by drawing with a brush. In the subsequent classes you will learn to paint in layers developing distinctive values and creating a high level modeling in gray. Lastly you will learn to glaze on color with attention to the gradation of the edges and the development of half-tones and highlights. All levels welcome.
