FAMILY: Indicates an intergenerational workshop with art activities for adults and children to do together. Children must be accompanied by an adult and adults accompanied by a child. All materials are included for making a treasure to take home and memories to keep forever! Prices are per person.
MULTIGENERATIONAL: Indicates a workshop that welcomes students of most ages (see class description for age range).

MULTIGENERATIONAL WORKSHOP: C063W17 Felted Creatures [NEW!] Saturday, Feb. 25, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Instructor: Jenny Stice
Skill level: ALL
Cool weather is a perfect time to make fuzzy wool creations! Using raw merino wool in an assortment of primary colors, we will practice felting basics to transform wool into a creature companion. You will learn the wet felting technique and then hand sew our creations for three-dimensional flair. This multigenerational class is for anyone ages 8 and up who loves fiber arts!

D071W17 Sun & Moon Ceramics [NEW!], Saturday, March 11, 10 a.m. - Noon

In Mexican Pre-Columbian culture (1200 BCE-1535), the sun was an important part of springtime rituals. In Mexico today, you can find sun and moon pottery pieces with bright colors, symbols and even facial features. Let's celebrate thiscoming spring, inspired by Mexican pottery. Children and adults will practice ceramic handbuilding and surface design techniques together in the family workshop. Projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

MULTIGENERATIONAL WORKSHOP: D052W17 Gorgeous Glass Spring Trinkets, Saturday, March 18, 1-3:30 p.m.
Instructor: Diane Petron
Skill Level: ALL
In these multigenerational workshops, learn the basics of glass fusing and then apply your newfound glass skills in the mosaic or spring trinkets workshop. The mosaic class is a grout-free technique, since we are fusing glass in the kiln. Take one or both workshops! Completed projects will be ready for pickup in two to three weeks after being fired in a kiln by the instructor.

Did you know that Picasso designed more than 600 ceramic editions from 1947 to 1971? If you are a fan of Picasso's paintings, then this workshop is for you. Picasso's pottery has surprise elements like an outline of a person's face, an owl, a goat or fish. You will make your own clay mug with human or animal features. Children and adults will practice ceramic handbuilding and surface design techniques together in this family workshop. Projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

Lake Minnetonka is home to a variety of freshwater fish and western painted turtles. Let's create our own lake fish or turtles out of clay that you will sculpt, carve and paint with slips. Children and adults will practice ceramic handbuilding and surface design techniques together in this family workshop. Projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

Building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed.
