This family workshop is for everyone who loves the snow myth of the Yeti, or Abominable Snowman, who treks across the frozen Himalaya Mountains. You will sculpt and carve your Yeti's furry body out of clay. You may even accessorize your snow monster for the frozen temps. Because of the bisque and glaze firing process, projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

In these multigenerational workshops, learn the basics of glass fusing and then apply your newfound glass skills in the Valentine or Spring into Glass workshop. Take one or both workshops! Completed projects will be ready for pickup in two to three weeks after being fired in a kiln by the instructor.

Valentine: We will play with decorative embellishments such as stringers, confetti and frit to create Valentine's Day glass art. Participants may create one or more of the following projects: wall art, Valentine's candy dish, or jewelry. The instructor will guide you in choosing designs that fit your skill level and enhance your ability. All materials will be provided.

Spring Into Glass: Let's invite spring into the dreary days of winter by making fused glass birds, bunnies or flowers. Create a plate, suncatcher, door ornament or even a 3-D sculpture with images of spring. Interpret the spring theme in any way you wish within the confines of the medium, the size of the kiln, and your experience level.

In this multigenerational class, we will travel in our imaginations to Venice, Italy. There, we will celebrate the Carnival of Venice, ceramics-style. Sculpt the features of a clay mask like those worn at masked balls, and decorate your mask with colorful slip. Then create a functional ceramics piece that will stand out at a carnival feast! Learn the basics of handbuilding and surface design in this festive class. Because of the bisque and glaze firing process, projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

In this multigenerational class, learn the techniques of a stone sculptor by carving, filing and sanding limestone blocks into artistic images. Projects may include freestanding sculptures, candleholders or bookends. These art pieces will last a lifetime. Must wear closed-toe shoes to class. Instructor is available following class for open studio time or questions. Please note that arrival time to class is flexible.

Gorgeous Glass Slumped Plates: Plates and Dishes and Trays, Oh My! Create fused glass projects that are both beautiful and functional. Options may include sushi plates, tiny dishes that can hold trinkets or truffles, or larger serving trays. The subject matter is wide open. Choose a spring theme, play with abstractions of color, explore geometric shapes, or even make a portrait of your favorite pet.

In this family workshop, you will make a fanciful fairy house perfect for your garden. Some fairies live in toadstool mushrooms; others live in twig forts. Our fairy homes will be crafted out of clay that looks just like a real mushroom or branch. You will handbuild and sculpt details like windows and doors for your fairy house. Then, decorate and paint your pottery with a colorful slip. Because of the bisque and glaze firing process, projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

We'll work with specialty glass such as dichroic and iridized and learn how to embed metals into glass. We will begin with pendants and move on to smaller, more challenging projects such as earrings or beads. Glass and basic jewelry findings will be provided.

Gorgeous Glass Landscape or Portrait: Create a fused glass dimensional landscape, either vertical or horizontal. On the first day, you will design your landscape or portrait and create the background using glass in its many forms from stringers to frit. Your piece will then be fired in the kiln for a full fuse. On the second day, you will add details, texture, and dimension in glass. Your piece will then get a tack fuse in the kiln, so your details will stand out against the background.

The building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed.
