A056W19 Clay Chia Pet, Saturday, September 21, 10 a.m. - Noon
Instructor: Krissy Catt
Skill Level: ALL

Let's create (Cha-Cha-Cha) Chia Pets from our imagination. After creating your pet's shape and features, you will add grooves to the outside of your sculptures to help your chia seeds grow. With time, sunlight, and water, your Chia Pet will grow a green coat before your eyes. Children and adults will practice ceramic handbuilding and surface design techniques together. Because of the bisque and glaze-firing process, projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

A036W19 Pumpkin Patch Art, Saturday, October 26, 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Art comes to the pumpkin patch this autumn. Children and adults will take their pick from assorted sizes and colors of pumpkins, selecting the one that can bring your artistic ideas to life. You'll get a feel for painting on a 3-D surface with colorful acrylic-based paints. Sample pumpkin paintings may include portraits of animals or people, scenes from nature, or abstract designs filled with colors and
patterns.

B059W19 Clay Masks à la Picasso, Saturday, November 2, 10 a.m. - Noon
Instructor: Krissy Catt
Skill Level: ALL

Masks can be realistic, abstract or Cubist! Inspired by Picasso's paintings, you will create a Cubist mask of a person or animal of your choosing. You will explore clay handbuilding techniques to create the features of your mask, and then decorate your mask with colorful slips to finish. Children and adults will practice ceramic handbuilding and surface design techniques together. Because of the bisque and glaze-firing process, projects will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class.

The building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed. 

 

* Phone lines will be open Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to take class registrations.
