FAMILY: Indicates an intergenerational workshop with art activities for adults and children to do together. Children must be accompanied by an adult and adults accompanied by a child. All materials are included for making a treasure to take home and memories to keep forever! Prices are per person.
MULTIGENERATIONAL: Indicates a workshop that welcomes students of most ages (see class description for age range).

Have you ever wanted to create your own instrument? All types of instruments can be made from clay. In this multigenerational workshop you will learn the basics of handbuilding while creating your own clay whistle or vessel flute. Instructor: Jessica Gotkin

These flutes will not only be a functional instrument but also a work of art. Turn your flute into an animal, holiday decoration, or decorative sculpture!

C037W19 Fleece Scarves and Hats, Saturday, January 26, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Let's make a fashion statement and amp up our winter wardrobe at the same time. In this multigenerational class you will make colorful fleece scarves and hats. You may choose to use one or multiple colors in your scarf, or apply a complementary border to your hat. Learn about sewing patterns, and practice hand and machine sewing techniques as we create wearable fiber art. All skill levels are welcome!

C019W19 Prints & Paper, Saturday, February 16, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

In this multigenerational workshop, experiment with relief printmaking techniques to create decorative papers with personality. You will go from sketches to fully-realized designs creating interesting shapes and patterns on paper. This class uses water-based inks, brayers and barens for the printmaking process.

C054W19 Spring Into Glass, Saturday, February 23, 1-3:30 p.m.
Instructor: Diane Petron
Skill level: ALL

Let's invite spring into the dreary days of winter's end by making fused glass birds, bunnies or flowers in this multigenerational workshop. Create a plate, suncatcher, door ornament or even a 3D sculpture with images of spring. Learn the basics of glass fusing and play with decorative embellishments such as stringers, noodles and frit. You are welcome to interpret the spring theme in any way you wish within the confines of the medium, the size of the kiln, and your experience level. Completed projects will be ready for pickup two to three weeks after being fired in the kiln by the instructor.

C064W19 Cheers to Winter! Saturday, February 2, 10 a.m. - Noon
Instructor: Krissy Catt

It's cold outside. Come in and warm up! Create handmade mugs and bowls to hold your favorite warm winter drinks and comfort food. Basic handbuilding techniques will be covered. Because of the bisque and glaze firing process, projects will be ready for pickup two to three weeks after the class.
