  • FAMILY: Indicates an intergenerational workshop with art activities for adults and children to do together. 
    Children must be accompanied by an adult and adults accompanied by a child.

  • MULTIGENERATIONAL: Indicates a workshop that welcomes students of most ages (see class description for age range).

C139W25 Amazing Mugs, Saturday, February 22, 10 a.m. - Noon
Instructor: Chloe Bischoff
Skill level: ALL

Create handmade mugs that will amaze your friends and family! These mugs are made to be well-loved and used in the kitchen for your beverage of choice. First you will make the body of the mug with basic handbuilding techniques. Once your mug is formed, you will carve, stamp, and add clay details to the mug. Colorful slips will be applied to your mug to finish. Because of the bisque and glaze firing process, estimated project pickup is three weeks after the class.

C138W25 Clay Penguins, Saturday, February 8, 10 a.m. - Noon

Playful Penguins are delightful birds that may live in cold places but they will warm your heart when you create your own ceramic penguin family or friend. Using handbuilding coiling and pinching techniques, our artist-instructor will guide as you create your own flightless bird. Let your imagination soar as you paint your black and white or colorful new breed of penguin. Because of the bisque and glaze firing process, estimated pick up is three weeks after the class. Price includes all materials and firing fees.

C137W25 Funny Valentine Bowl, Saturday, January 18, 10 a.m. - Noon
Instructor: Chloe Bischoff

Is there someone or something you are crazy about? Maybe it is the candy that you will serve up in this bowl. Or this bowl could be a colorful gift that you make for yourself. Handbuild with clay, add colorful slips, heart shaped designs, our artist-instructor will lead the way in this fun workshop. We plan it early so that you will have your bowl in time for February 14th! Because of the bisque and glaze firing process, estimated pick up is three weeks after the class. Price includes all materials and firing fees.

  • Enter the number of attendees for each class in a session then select "Add [SESSION] classes" (at the bottom of that session's section).

  • Complete the information requested and continue.

  • Then click CONTINUE to add that session to your cart.

  • You can repeat this process for other sessions, classes, etc. before you checkout.

  • If you are not already a member, you may purchase a membership and begin taking advantage of your 10% member discount today!

  • Contact a Registrar with any questions at 952-473-7361 ext. 160 or registration@minnetonkaARTS.org. Please note that the New Student Discount can only be processed by registering in-person or by phone. This discount cannot be applied retroactively and it does not apply to birthday parties, subsidized classes, or Summer Arts Camp (SAC). See SAC policies for other details specific to camp. 
  • Liability Waiver Requirement
    Before you are able to attend a class or workshop at the Art Center, we must have a signed RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. If you register on line you must review and indicate you accept the terms of this release before you will be directed to the classes. If you register by phone, the Registrar will email you a link to the waiver you must complete before your registration can be processed. If you register in person, you will be asked to complete the waiver on our tablet or on your phone.

The building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed. 

 

* Phone lines will be open Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to take class registrations.  

 

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
