These Sampler classes are ideal for new students to try an art form before committing to an eight-week class. You'll create a small project or experiment with the media to discover if it's something you want to continue! And for current students, Samplers are great for sharing an Art Center experience with friends and family.

DS40AM20 Sampler Saturday: Drawing
Everyone can learn to draw! Here's your chance to explore drawing techniques and learn the fundamentals in an enjoyable two-hour event. Overcome inhibitions with creative exercises to fill the paper, increase skills and build confidence for a more in-depth drawing class. All materials included.

Enrollment limited to 14; ages 16 and up

DS45PM20 Sampler Saturday: Painting
Wondering if you'd enjoy a painting class? Explore painting techniques and learn the fundamentals through clever exercises with acrylics to gain a feel for the medium and increase confidence and skill in a fun two-hour event. All materials included.

DS10PM20 Sampler Saturday: Kids Art Exploration, 4/11
In this fun sampler class, we will experiment with a variety of artistic media such as drawing, painting or printmaking. Participants will learn basic art techniques and terminology and have many opportunities to explore their own creative processes and interests.

Enrollment limited to 12; ages 6 to 12
Single class scheduled on 4/11/2020 at 1:30PM

  • Enter the number of attendees for each class in a session then select "Add [SESSION] classes" (at the bottom of that session's section).

  • Complete the information requested and continue.

  • Then click CONTINUE to add that session to your cart.

  • You can repeat this process for other sessions, classes, etc. before you checkout.

  • If you are not already a member, you may purchase a membership and begin taking advantage of your 10% member discount today!

  • Contact a Registrar with any questions at 952-473-7361 ext. 160 or registration@minnetonkaARTS.org. Please note that the New Student Discount can only be processed by registering in-person or by phone. This discount cannot be applied retroactively and it does not apply to birthday parties, subsidized classes, or Summer Arts Camp (SAC). See SAC policies for other details specific to camp. 
  • Liability Waiver Requirement
    Before you are able to attend a class or workshop at the Art Center, we must have a signed RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. If you register on line you must review and indicate you accept the terms of this release before you will be directed to the classes. If you register by phone, the Registrar will email you a link to the waiver you must complete before your registration can be processed. If you register in person, you will be asked to complete the waiver on our tablet or on your phone.

The building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed. 

 

* Phone lines will be open Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to take class registrations.  

  

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
