D46823 Drawing the Figure Using the Proportional Method, Thursdays, 6 - 9 p.m.
Instructor: Barbara Lidfors
Skill Level: ALL

Drawing the human figure is a multifaceted and exciting venture for artists of all levels. In this class we will study the proportional method of drawing the human figure. From the Greeks to the Renaissance to the present, artists have found that the understanding of anatomical proportions can lead to more accurate and convincing figurative drawings, especially when combined with sensitive observation. Beginners will begin by mastering the proportions of the head and the standing body. Intermediate students will work towards using compositional strategies to create scenes with multiple figures. See suggested materials list on the website.
