These beautifully painted imaginative tales delight young readers and parents alike. Morning class will use watercolors and markers to create scenes that tell the funny stories that happen to us everyday. Afternoon class will learn about artist Suzanne Valdon who painted colorful pictures of domestic life. Then make paintings of your kitchen, yard, dining room, garden, families or pets. My Neighbor Totoro and The Secret Life of Pets are film favorites with kids, showing a world that only kids can see. Magical buses, sprites, umbrellas, and animal friends are always there when you need them! Class will make favorite summer scenes, then add secret details with printmaking techniques to make bold and contemporary pictures with lots of color and characters. Enrollment limited to 16.

    Before you are able to attend a class or workshop at the Art Center, we must have a signed RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. If you register on line you must review and indicate you accept the terms of this release before you will be directed to the classes. If you register by phone, the Registrar will email you a link to the waiver you must complete before your registration can be processed. If you register in person, you will be asked to complete the waiver on our tablet or on your phone.

The building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed. 

 

* Phone lines will be open Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to take class registrations.
