Senaka Senanayake (1952-) is a Sri Lankan artist who paints the rainforests of his country. His colorful paintings of exotic plants, insects, birds, and animals celebrate the amazingly diverse species living in the rainforest. Senanayake creates vibrant colors and bold shapes in his paintings, and our young artists will do the same! The morning class will draw and paint a rainforest with flowers, plants, butterflies, and insects. Enrollment limited to 12.

Let’s visit the Hawaiian home of sisters Nani and Lilo, and see how their life gets interesting when they adopt a pet dog (or really alien) named Stitch. Let’s draw this rebellious intergalactic alien’s expressions - big eyes, spiky teeth and all. You’ll create Stitch’s character in a fun pose, and then create the ocean backdrop. This class celebrates Stitch and his new home in Hawaii in drawings, paintings, and mixed media. Enrollment limited to 12.

The building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed. 

 

* Phone lines will be open Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to take class registrations.
