Did you ever wonder how painters capture special visual effects? Let’s create atmospheric effects like underwater bubbles, splashing water, or fireworks exploding in the sky. You will learn how to brush, splatter, and pour paint to add interest to your work. Next you’ll see how you can transfer these atmospheric techniques to other subjects such as portrait painting, becoming a special effects artist for the day. Enrollment limited to 15.

Explore a variety of art media and techniques, combining art forms in refreshing ways. Our art projects will introduce new artistic tools and concepts and encourage a sense of play and discovery. Sample projects are printmaking designs for paper and textiles, acrylic paint + collage on canvas, and/or 3-D paper and wire sculptures that bring a freehand sketch to life. Enrollment limited to 15.

The building is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve through New Year's Day*, Memorial Day and the last week in August through Labor Day.* There is no open studio when the building is closed. 

 

* Phone lines will be open Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to take class registrations.
